Large-scale use of FIPRO decks
"The erectors were able to make better use of the cargo capacity of our truck, they were quicker in vertical transport and they also had greater energy reserves late in the day. Scaffolding work like this is fun", says a delighted Siegfried Ilchmann, the company's branch manager. The shorter time needed for assembly and dismantling of the scaffolding is reflected in a marked reduction in the costs.
Compared with a 3.07 m long Robust deck, the FIPRO deck is 5 kg lighter, meaning 22 % less weight that has to be shifted on the site. Every kilogram saved mean faster assembly, and at the same time the high physical demands on the erectors are reduced. The textured surface furthermore prevents slipping, even when wet.
Together with its high rigidity, that makes the deck extremely strong and ensures a sure footing. The Fipro deck has building authority approval up to load class 3, including use as brick guards. That makes it ideal for facade scaffolding.
Besides its lower weight, the FIPRO deck is also remarkable for its sturdiness: numerous tests verified its chemical resistance to the chemicals usually found on construction sites, and what's more this lightweight deck is also absolutely weather-proof. Unlike wood, the plastic used here is not prone to fungus growth or rot. The FIPRO deck does not absorb any moisture and does not swell, so there are no weight fluctuations and its excellent strength properties are preserved over its entire useful life.
Easy cleaning is another advantage of the FIPRO deck that translates into money savings.
Adhesion by plasters etc. to the plastic is minimal. Encrusted dirt can in many cases be removed just be tapping it, and more obstinate dirt can be easily removed with a scraper or if necessary with a high-pressure cleaner.
